Cibali Karakolu: Final Read-Throughs Give Way to Stage Rehearsals
RotArt Theatre is completing its final read-through rehearsals for Cibali Karakolu, which will be performed on Sunday, 29 November 2026. Our preparation now moves into a new phase: stage rehearsals will begin this week. We are excited to bring the characters and scenes explored around the rehearsal table onto the stage, step by step. From the script to the stage Under the artistic direction of Özlem Abacı, we read the play together, focusing on relationships between the characters, the meaning of their lines and the flow between scenes. Each read-through helps us understand the play as a whole and listen more carefully to one another within the same story. As the read-throughs draw to a close, it is time to connect that preparation with movement and staging. In the next phase, we will work together on the characters’ positions, entrances and exits, the rhythm of playing opposite one another and the pace of the scenes. Turning words on paper into a living encounter will be one of the most enjoyable parts of the process. For us, rehearsing is not only about preparing lines; it is about becoming an ensemble that trusts one another on stage. Our voluntary effort, friendship and the pleasure of creating together are part of every session.
